Ozone 4 is a continuation of
mastering developed by
Izotope. Their tool distances itself from competition for several reasons. First of all the
soft is an all-in-one including all necessary tools for the
mastering (equalizers, compressors, reverberation). Then interface is rather original and intuitive.
Although it is above all about tools for the
mastering, it is not forbidden to use it in a sound mixing context. In this eventuality, the tool is a bit heavy since he must be inserted at the level of every track and not of the track master. Some functionality is more used in principle at the level of
mastering than of sound mixing (compression multibands,
maximizer,
dithering).
The equalizer is rather standard in use with a choice among filters parametric,
high pass / low pass,
